New Life Gospel Community Church is a rapidly growing community of churches located in northwestern Tanzania, centered in Musoma. Our vision is a church where the people’s spiritual, intellectual, and physical needs are fully met as they joyfully, and in harmony with one another, live a life that glorifies God. We glorify God by worshiping Him, spreading the Gospel and making disciples of Christ, building a strong fellowship that is united in love and peace, providing services to the needy, and advocating Human Rights.

Our church began in 1998 with only 16 members in Musoma town. New converts were then meeting in a classroom of a primary school. As the membership grew we rented a bigger room at the school. Today, we praise God for blessing us over the last 10 years. We now have seven churches, about 500 regular members and many more in our Bible studies. Yet we face many challenges and have many needs. These include:

Great numbers of orphaned children that come to our Sunday school in both spiritual and physical need. This for sure is our greatest challenge and the number keeps increasing each month. Many of our congregation are widows. Many of our widows have no support from their families and many are grandmothers caring for their orphaned grandchildren. The look to us for assistance.

Alongside these thorny issues, we are faced with the challenges of:

• Traditional beliefs and superstitions, even among Christians
• Traditional culture and religion that are pagan and do not recognize Christ as Lord
• Disease and malnutrition among our members, with little or no resources to assist them
• Lack of finances€“: our members are poor and give sacrificially but the need is so great

Pastor Daniel A. Ouma and his wife Deborah are the founders of New Life Gospel Community Church of Tanzania. Daniel left his position as a secondary school teacher to answer God’s call to fulfill the Great Commission. Daniel and Deborah registered the church with the Tanzanian government in 2000. Having a heart for the lost, Daniel and Deborah planted several congregations in the area surrounding Musoma and in other regions of Tanzania.
